He was forsaken by his mother during the Divinity Wars and left to live with The Stranded Light until he returned in secret after the Defiance.
He created the Virhen Ave, the organization that caused the Sinless Night.

When his mother Arthe was in the process of planning the Shattering to bring to an end the Divine Wars, she sought the help of The Stranded Light in an event known as the Second Sin. As part of the pact Arthe left Mael with the Voice as collateral, but abandoned him when she refused to upheld her end of the pact.
