Demigod of Ashtar, Born of Lust from the Alhyr /Ash/ (craving, lust) and /anoth/ (nascent), Ashanot was the last direct child of the goddes.

History

Ashtar and the father of Ashanot, Uldhak — an ancient Qmar leader — had numerous children, but except for Ashanot they all died in infancy.

Legend goes that in :[-475], when Ashtar and Uldhak first child turned sixteen the goddess declared that she was going to retire in solite for some centuries. Uldhak asked the goddess to remain with him, to not leave him. She answered him: “Take your lance and point it at our son in the arena, kill him and I’ll remain with you”. Uldhak did as she asked, he battled against his son and killed him, and the two remained together.

The year after their second child was born and when he turned ten, the scene repeted. And again, and again, for decades. To keep winning Uldhak begun organizing the encounters only months after the birth of the children.

After sixty years, a girl was born and Ashtar named her Ashanot, Born of Lust. The father, after the birth, immediately organized the duel. Uldhak, now old and weak, raised his spear and immediately fell to the ground and slowly died while the infant watched the life leave his eyes.

With Ulthar dead, Ashtar retired and the Qmar begun to revere Ashanot as their savior, their liberator from the horrendous leader.

Following

Ashanot is one of the more known and celebrated demigods, in particular in the Emberlands. The most renowed religious order that follows Ashanot is the Fervents of Ashanot, which have made their mission to destroy all forms of undeath.

Temple of Ashes

The greatest temple dedicated to the demigod Ashanot is the Temple of Ashes. The body of the demigod is sealed inside a stone coffin, placed at the center of the temple and known as the Stonepyre becouse it produces an ever burining flame. The priests of the temple continuosly place wood on top of the stonepyre to create a great bonfire that illuminates most of the structure.
