Mersan became a oligarchy after the Quiet Coup, when the military leader Eber Vandell overthrowed the democracy.
Senate of Mersan
The head of the state is known as Eye of the Land and the ministries are known as the Hands. Seven Hands exists and each oversees one or more given subject:

- Hand of Informations
- Hand of Celebrations
- Hand of the Paths
- Hand of the Wheat, currently Karl Rehjikiavik
- Hand of the Industry
Local power is granted to noble families in the form of baronies. The head of these noble families are known as Barons.
The Eye, the seven Hands and the Barons compose the the Senate of Mersan, which has legislative power in the nation.
